Description - IFRI Tours

12 day tour visiting Marrakech, Ouzoud waterfalls, Essaouira Chefchaouen and north of Morocco, crossing the atlas mountains to the south and shara desert, included camel ride and night in deset camp.

IFRI Tours - PROGRAM DETAILS:
Day 1: Arrival To Fes

After picking it up at the airport or hotel, visit the medina of Fez, from there we will go to the city. Fez is one of the oldest imperial cities of Morocco’s history, founded in the eighth century. The medina is the 13th century, with its artisans group the streets. After the visit return to the hotel for the night.

Day 2: Fes – Royal Palace

Visit the Royal Palace or visit Fes Old Medina and enjoy its brilliant architectures, its fabulous medina and its historical monuments. Fez is indeed the cultural capital of Morocco. In the afternoon you have your free time to relax or walk on their own.

Day 3: Fes – Merzouga -ERG Chebbi

After breakfast we will go to the desert road will cross a cedar forest, harbor Midelt, Errachidia reservoir, beautiful scenery Ziz Valley, the city of Erfoud also known as “the gateway to the desert”. See sunset in Borj d’Est, this peak is above the city so it offers magnificent views. Then we head up to the dunes of Erg Chebbi, where we spend the night.

Day 4: Erg Chebbi (camel ride)

After breakfast we’ll take a look around the dunes. Visit two oasis of Merzouga, nomads in Haima, the people of Khamlia (village black people), mines MIFISS, the desert and oasis TISSARDMINE plate. Back to our accommodation to three. Later we will ride on camels to see the sunset in the dunes. Then we spend the night in a wild oasis two hours from our position in the heart of the dunes. We sleep in “bivouacs” … a magical night!.

Day 5: Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Gorges

We will leave the dunes behind and head towards Erfoud in order to reach Tineghir where we visit the “fougartas” an old sewer system of the 15th century are also going to take a look at the palm Tinhgir. After that we will reach the throats of Todra where we will rest and eat. Then we will walk around the city and the Boulmane Dades valley to reach the Dades gorges. There, the river has eroded the rocks to create a beautiful landscape. Dinner and overnight in a charming hotel.

Day 6: Dades Gorges – Boutaghrart – Skoura – Ouarzazate

Let’s start with driving the morning through the road leading to the valley of roses and the magnificent Berber village of Boutghrart where we will have tea with a local family. We will continue along the road of a thousand kasbahs. Along this route we will stop to observe some kasbahs, landscapes, valleys, nomads living in caves … arrive to Skoura and then head towards Ait Ben Haddou where many movies were filmed (Obelix, Gladiator, Sahara …). Dinner and a hotel bed.

Day 7: Ait Ben Haddou – Telouet – Marrakech

Let’s go to the wonderful kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou where Lawrence of Arabia was filmed. and we will visit another called Kasbah Telouet. At the end of the afternoon we will be back in Marrakech across the Tizi-N-Tichka (2260 meters), with its beautiful landscapes. Overnight at a Riad in Marrakech.

Day 8: Full day in Marrakech

We walk around Marrakech and its major landmarks, including the ancient medina, tombs and mosques, the Kasbah and the famous Jemaa El Fna square. Let us understand why it is said that Morocco is a tourist capital. Overnight in the same Riad.

Day 9: Marrakech – Essaouira – Marrakech

Let’s start in the morning traveling from Marrakech to Essaouira, which is about 2 hours and a half. We will not get into the museum of wooden handicrafts, housed in a former palace. There is a guard tower and Skala harbor. From this port we will look towards the coast, the islands and the city. Marina Gate is used to merge the city and harbor, and there are auctions to buy fresh fish. The narrow streets of the medina show a lot of artisans working with jewels and wood … They are installed below the bastions of the city .. back to Marrakech to spend the night in the same riad as the previous two nights .

Day 10: Marrakech – Casablanca

Morning after breakfast departure from Marrakech to Casablanca. We will visit the Hassan II mosque, the medina and the new parts of the city and visit traditional market Hubbous if you want to buy some gifts before we spend the night in a hotel.

Day 11: Casablanca – Rabat – Meknes

After breakfast, we will go to Rabat to visit the Hassan Tower. After visiting Rabat we headed to the city of Meknes, which has reached its golden age thanks to Sultan Moulay Ismail. There is a Roman city, known as Volubilis, 27 kms of Meknes. We will walk around the Roman city. After this visit, we reach Meknes. We will not take a stroll through the city, we will go to the tomb of Moulay Ismail, square and Bab Mansour El Hedime. Overnight at a hotel.

Day 12: Meknes – Fes

We will drive back to Fes at your accommodation or airport for your flight
