Get to know the most important imperial cities in Morocco: explore Marrakech, its gardens and its crazy street markets, discover the fascinating old Medina of Fez with a local guide, and visit Meknes, Rabat and Casablanca. Ride camels across the Sahara alongside Berber cameleers and sleep in starlit tents nestled among golden sand dunes.
You will be picked up at 08:00am and drive to Casablanca, take a short visit to the splendid Hassan II Mosque: a breathtaking landmark of Casablanca with the tallest minaret at 210m, later on depart Rabat along the coast line to the political capital of Morocco. Visit to the Oudaya Kasbah: Rabat's old medina with its beautiful narrow streets and small blue homes. Then visit the Chella Necropolis where the Roman and Islamic ruins lie side by side whispering endless stories of centuries past. Overnight in Rabat.
After breakfast, Depart Rabat along vast agricultural fields to the second imperial city of Meknes to take pictures of the massive Bab El Mansour gate. Then continue on to the sacred city of Mouly Idriss. You will have some time to rest at this beautiful small city before visiting the Roman ruins of Volubilis. Volubilis is a truly impressive setting selected by UNESCO as a cultural heritage site for humanity. After your visit depart for the great city of Fes for overnight.
Enjoy a full day sightseeing tour of Fes with a local guide. Fes is Morocco's spiritual and intellectual capital and has the largest old Medina in the world. The city's numerous monuments have thousands of stories to tell visitors, the Jemaa Karaouyine (the first university to be established in the world), The Mederssa Bounania, the El tanneries and artisan quarters and the fascinating souks are just some of the many places to see. Overnight in Fes.
Leaving Fez with its great history, we will head to a totally different part of Morocco. On the way to Erfoud, we will pass through many Berber cities and villages, the first being Ifrane and Azrou. Ifrane, known as Morocco's Switzerland, is a very beautiful city with charming European style houses, and Azrou is a Berber village known for its handicraft cooperative. We will continue via Midelt, the Ziz River and a series of fortified villages before arriving to Merzouga ( camel excursion and overnight in bedouin tents).
Return back to the car driving to Tinghir via Rissani and Tinjdad. Tinghir has a very beautiful and large oasis that is more than 40 km in length. The valley is rich with palm trees, olives, almonds and many other crops and a few minutes walk through the green valley is a remarkable experience. North of Tinghir is Todra Gorge, a 300m cut deep wall into the mountains of the High Atlas and one of the rarest landscapes. After Lunch in Todra gorge, continue the tour via Dades valley and El Kella Mgouna (The capital of roses). We will continue our tour to Morocco's version of Hollywood, Ouarzazate for overnight.
Ouarzazate, in Berber literally means without noise, is a very charming city. As Morocco's Hollywood, Ouarzazate with its cinematographic studios offers an great environment for big film shoots such as Gladiators, Astérix ET Obélix, Lawrence of Arabia and Jesus of Nazareth. Ouarzazate is also a city of beautiful Kasbahs and great history. In the city centre we will enjoy a visit to the magnificent Tourirt Kasbah and Kasbah Tifoultout, some of the few remaining Glaoui residences. We will continue to Marrakech through the high atlas mountains, and drop you off at your hotel.
